– A New 13 day Wavespell in the Mayan Sacred Calendar

What does it mean and What’s in store for us?
This wavespell is acutely close to my heart as it’s my personal wave as well as my ‘Galactic Birthday’. It is also the name I gave to my Crystal Shop, Magnetic Earth Studios (now moved solely online).
Astrologically, the timing of this wavespell could not be more potent, as we witness Uranus, ruler of Aquarius and planet of awakening, and Neptune, planet of spirituality exactly sextile for the first time since the 1960’s. Harking back to that period in history, we are reminded that it marked the birth of New Age spiritualism and the awakening of consciousness for many. Interests in the occult, popular art and culture sprang up en masse under this astrological pairing. Challenging events are occurring daily as the earth prepares to karmically clear our dark history. There are global link ups on Thursday 28th that you can join in (see links at bottom of this blog) where you can direct your conscious ‘light’ toward the collective, global awakening. Your focus and your light are needed now more than ever.
Look at the arresting image created specially for this blog. The earth goddess Gaia, oozing femininity and self-assurance, directs her elevated and penetrating gaze forwards, as she stands surrounded by a mystical enchanted forest. The serpent coils itself around her head and neck, a traditional deity in many indigenous cultures and representing transformation, renewal and connection to the earth. The colour Red, beside the neutral greens, find prominence in this image with the colour of her hair, the jewelled forehead and the snake’s piercing eyes. Red Earth (Kab’an in mayan language) is so named after the ‘spiritually advanced’ Red Root Race that appeared in Asia over a million years ago. Red is also a reminder of the blood that pumps through our veins; of the burnt sienna’s, the red ochres and the terracotta rose colours that litter our earthly landscape and those we have come to associate with the rich, vibrant palette of the earth itself. Finally, the symbol for the earth, the downwards facing triangle, with the central line is tattooed upon her neck. She is both of the earth and the earth is within her.

Many of us are awake and aware now to the significant changes the earth is currently undergoing. Powerful seismic shifts are happening at an alarming rate and being felt both around and within us, reshaping our landscape and creating unnatural phenomena in a world where predictability seems to be a thing of the past. Personally, I am so connected to the earth’s frequencies, (being a Red Earth sign) that I often intuitively and instinctively know when a storm is about to arrive or a natural disaster is imminent. To many of us, the earth’s pulse is palpable and we can feel it coursing through our veins, our bodies and nervous systems mimicking the kinetic energy and heartbeat of the earth. How many of us instinctively know what we need to do when we feel ‘ungrounded’ or ‘spacey’? Understanding thus, that to feel the surge of the earth’s sustaining power beneath our feet restores our sense of calm, helps us regain balance and feel connected and grounded once more.
Wavespells are all about being presented with our wider purpose in the outside world and there is no better time than the next thirteen days (from Thursday 28th) to be awake and aware to what the universe will reveal to you through ‘perfectly timed’ signs and synchronicities, and those that will take you a step closer to revealing your life purpose. The Red Earth sign invites us to take a deeper dive into our own personal and collective evolution. It poses the big questions; “how did humanity get here?” “What is my own purpose and why have I incarnated at this particular time?” If we ask the questions, listen patiently to the answers that arise from deep within us and ‘clue track’ our way with the signs and synchronicities laid out before us on our pathway, we will come a step closer to an understanding of our souls’ progression and personal destiny.
Jungian philosophy called these moments of synchronicity, ‘meaningful coincidences’, the idea of two or more random events coming together ‘in synch’, underlying the importance and significance of such events and giving us the gratifying reassurance that all things are connected. The Red Earth represents the synergistic workings of destiny, the energy that attracts people, places and situations to you with a shared theme or intent. It’s a perfect wavespell to attract your soul family to you, so be prepared for endless amazing connections from your co-travellers, sharing the same journey. However you wish to look at these synchronistic experiences, know that these magical moments are a gift from the universe and are reminding us that we are not alone on our path!
Red Earth is an ‘active’, ‘initiating’ energy that gets things started, often taking the lead on projects and ideas. So not only is this a great time to kick start a new project that has been relegated to the planning phase for a while, but it’s also a perfect time to participate in any form of ancestral, ceremonial or shamanic work, as in workshops, retreats or even ritualised dance. Movement that really shakes the ‘core’ and lets our bodies connect physically and emotionally with the earth is a great activity to do in this wavespell.

Awaken your presence in general by shifting your focus to the earth over the next thirteen days. Like a poet enthralled with the beauty of a rapturous and magnificent forest, re-form and re-align your relationship with your natural surroundings. Feel the benefits of tree hugging!
On this note, I recently finished an extraordinary novel by Elif Shafak, called ‘The Island of Missing Trees’. Based in Cyprus, it is a moving tale of love and loss, displacement and homecoming. As part of the dialogue, the tree, a Ficus Carica, a fig tree (central to the story) speaks…
“Humans walk by us every day, they sit and sleep, smoke and picnic in our shade, they pluck our leaves and gorge themselves on our fruit, they break our branches, riding them like horses as children or using them to birch others into submission, when they become older and crueller, they carve their lover’s name on our trunks and vow eternal love, they weave necklaces out of our needles and paint our flowers into art, they split us into logs to heat their homes and sometimes they chop us down because we obstruct their view, they make cradles, wine corks, chewing gum and rustic furniture, and produce the most spellbinding music out of us, and they turn us into books in which they lose themselves on cold winter nights, they use our wood to manufacture coffins in which they end their lives, buried six feet under with us, and they even compose romantic poems to us, calling us the link between earth and sky… and yet still they do not see us.”
How sad this paragraph made me! Do go appreciate a tree in this wave…
Above all, stay centred and rooted in the ‘here and now’, Red Earth is about ‘presence’. Recognise that the source of power is found in the present moment. Mindfully walk barefoot upon the earth and give thanks for all she provides. Feel the Earth’s magnetic pull and harmonise with the frequency of her heart. Crystals, tuning forks and crystal singing bowls are the perfect spiritual tools to align yourself with the earth’s frequencies and offer stabilizing and harmonising support.

That Fig tree story is very like the Ents in Lord of the Rings. Tolkien expressed his deep affection for trees, noting that he considered the maltreatment of them to be as difficult to bear as ill-treatment of animals, and he created a whole world where trees are powerful, sentient beings.
Recently, my need to be in nature and around trees permanently has become a deep, painful ache. I'm sliding towards becoming a Nemophilist - someone with a love or fondness for forests, woods, or woodland scenery, or someone who often visits them – a 'haunter' of woods.
