What does it mean and What’s in store for us?

There is something rather ‘explosive’ about Storm energy and this thirteen-day wave lets us know in no uncertain terms that the tensions that have been bubbling away just under the surface, finally give vent and spill over into our everyday reality. The political picture is no stranger to open displays of confrontation or power struggles within parties, often diametrically opposed to issues that affect us all, (both here and across the pond), but this energy is more than that. It’s about the collective voice of the people, gathering like storm clouds, uniting together in our fight for freedom of expression and the protection of human rights … and ultimately, it’s about our search for truth.

Accepting that the Storm can come with lightning speed and plunge us to the very depths of our experience, offers all of us an opportunity in this wavespell to change our worldview and transform our lives for the better. It may feel in this next thirteen days like something is ‘breaking apart’; a bit like the egg being cracked open and your world is being turned upside down. Questions like; I’m not sure of anything anymore” may surface. Don’t deny its transformative quality; storm energy acts as a catalyst for inevitable, irrevocable swift acting change.

Take a look at the evocative image that has been especially created for this blog. A raging sea roars mercilessly against the backdrop of a rising storm. Clouds, pregnant with menace and foreboding gather in a darkening sky, ancient symbols dispersed with haste like forgotten particles in the ether; then the sudden violent growl of thunder giving purpose to the lightning bolts that fork their way through the blackness.

Follow your eyes to the central point of the storm. Within this dark spot amid the cloud cover is the eye of the storm, depicted here by the Earth being contained within the eye of Horus, an ancient Egyptian symbol for protection and healing. Amid that chaotic stirring of thunderclaps, accelerated winds and torrential rain, the eye remains centred and still and the earth encapsulated within its stillness. The storm purifies everything in its wake, once it retreats, we finally arrive at a place of peace and clarity.

Storm energy is the bringer of light and truth and as such serves as a major catalyst for growth, both in our internal and external world. Look out during this wave for earth shattering revelations that may have a marked effect on the course of humanity.

Astrologically, with the sun moving into Cancer on the 20th and a Sagittarius full moon on June 11th, temperatures may rise in more ways than one! Wherever Cancer is in your personal chart and with the added influence of Jupiter ruling the Sagittarius moon, look out for themes of expansion, shared opportunities, collective resources and growth! As I said in the last blog post, it’s time to let go of old stories. Radical change on the home front is starred.

This is also a ‘Strawberry’ full moon (so named by the old farmer’s almanac and heralding the time that strawberry season is upon us) and a moon spectacle that will be sitting very low in the Southern sky, so making it appear much larger to cosmic gazers in the Northern hemisphere than usual. Caused by an event known as ‘major lunar standstill’, this celestial event will not be marked again in our skies until 2043. Moon watchers get your telescopes or cameras out in the next couple of days, you may just be lucky with what you see or capture!

During this wavespell, there may be an unconscious desire to withdraw and retreat sometimes in order to re-evaluate your life or deal with longstanding issues. We may find ourselves prone to meteorological mood swings, defensive reactions or sudden explosive rages. If these appear from nowhere, you may be getting all hot under the collar about something you have little control over and this only expends negative energy towards the self and achieves very little in terms of results. Remember this energy can be an immense teacher and like the phoenix rising from the ashes, it is capable of encouraging such unparalleled transformation that its original form can barely be recognized. Try not to react.

So…

Channel this energy in a more productive way. If you are artistic – have you ever tried to paint a storm? That would be an amazing challenge for an artist! If you are getting angry about an injustice that affects your reality, write a letter and lobby someone who can make a difference on your behalf. Take a deep look at what in your life you need to shake up and transform?

Those born under the sign of Storm in the Mayan sacred calendar were thought of by the tribe as ‘Thunderbeings’, often drawn to spiritual pursuits and with a reverence for mythology and the ancient gods. They were also those that others looked to in the community for healing and wisdom, particularly when it comes to dis-eases of the mind. If you feel moved to start a career as a mental health practitioner or take a study course in Shamanism or Psychology, this energy acts as a wave that really gets behind these motivations.  Storm wavespells are about using your God-given energies and talents to effect change in the outside world, whatever form that takes or whatever medium through which you express them.

Be in no doubt whatsoever that humanity is witnessing an unprecedented transformation taking place on Earth. Storm marks the entrance to the gateway, the final step we need to take toward creating our own Heaven here on Earth.
