Insight from The Osho Zen Tarot

The Inner Voice

“The Inner voice speaks not in words but in the wordless language of the heart. It is like an oracle who only speaks the truth. If it had a face, it would be like the face at the centre of this card – alert, watchful, and able to accept both the dark and the light, symbolised by the two hands holding the crystal”.

There is a beautiful symmetry with this image and I am reminded here of the Tao symbol, the Yin and Yang that teaches us about ‘polarity’, that in accepting both the light and the dark within us, we find acceptance and balance.

The water in the foreground represents our ability to dive deep into the domain of the emotions, but then “emerge again to soar towards the sky”. The crystal itself represents the clarity that comes from transcending all dualities.

Listening to the inner voice at times can be challenging because there are occasions when too many voices seem to be pulling us this way and that.

We may get an inspirational or creative thought that seems to arrive ‘upon a breeze’ and one that literally propels us forward into positive action. Or that inner voice may come as an inexplicable or uneasy feeling deep down in our gut that speaks to us of resistance and is accompanied by fear. And what about the internal critic? The voice that throws us off centre and drives us to self-defeating and even destructive behaviour.

The inner voice can play with us sometimes… we can all misinterpret its messages.

So how do we learn to trust it? The Zen Master Osho says; confusion only arises when “we fail to seek the silence and the centring within”.

If we take time to find our centre, that place of stillness and balance deep within, then that is where the magic happens, that is when we hear the inner voice. It’s not a conscious process, it comes from sensing and intuiting and listening from a place deep within.

Ram Dass said; “Be still. The quieter you become, the more you can hear”.

So perhaps this week make a conscious effort to find your quiet …You might find it in meditation, yoga, creativity, exercise or prayer. Finding a peaceful place in nature (or your own back garden) promotes a ‘connectivity’ to the earth, grounds us and helps us connect to the ‘oneness in all things’. Whatever works best for you, go seek out and find your quiet.

Only then are we able to hear our truth. To accompany this post there is a FREE 10 minute meditation I have written and recorded aimed at promoting a feeling of ‘balance’. I have called it Tao Meditation – The Sailboat Journey.

Bright Blessings

This is a ten minute meditation to encourage ‘balance’ in your life and uses the metaphor of a Sailboat Journey.https://magneticearth424745432.files.wordpress.com/2020/05/audacity-a-sailboat-journey.wav

The Tao teaches us about balance. Effortless action is what happens when you are at one with the Tao. Life happens, we have no need to force an outcome. There is no stress, the forces take care of themselves as you sit in the ‘centre’. It’s a most beautiful and calm place to be. Sailing is a great analogy for ‘finding your centre’. When you move through life in balance, you are always present, always at peace.

Please do not play this meditation whilst driving. It is probably best played first thing in the morning in order to start your day with a balanced viewpoint on life.

Whist there is no background music on the meditation, I suggest you listen to the link we have supplied on ‘You Tube’ here as this is beautifully relaxing and non intrusive music.

Enjoy!
